About the BC Chamber of Commerce
History
The British Columbia Chamber of Commerce,
known to be in operation as early as 1867, was re-established in 1951. The B.C. Chamber is
registered under the Society Act (B.C.) as a volunteer not for profit associations. As "The
Voice of B.C. Business", The B.C. Chamber, through our local member chambers and corporate members,
represents over 25,000 businesses throughout British Columbia.
Objectives
The British Columbia Chamber of Commerce was established to:
- Develop a true cross section of opinions of the British Columbia business community,
and effectively present these opinions to the government.
- Promote trade and commerce and improve the economic and human well being of the people
of British Columbia and Canada.
